This Mother’s Day brings events across Chennai to celebrate the mothers of the family and appreciate motherhood. On May 14, WSquare with Natural Parenting Community will host its shopping festival, Three Bags Full at WSquare, Adyar, to promote mompreneurs and showcase their efforts.
Natural Parenting Community
Natural Parenting Community(NPC) is an online support-group comprised of women who have embraced natural parenting techniques. These practices are based on raising children responsively and consciously, nourishing children’s curiosity through natural learning, and encouraging them to reach their goals at their own pace. NPC members provide guidance and support for women on pregnancy, breastfeeding, and parenting, and extends their support to husbands and families. The group also actively meets once a month at a member’s house to support each other’s entrepreneurial efforts, says Sharanya, the founder.
Three Bags Full
The group’s event on Mother’s Day will showcase a number of parenting aids, toys, and snacks made by women entrepreneurs. Visitors can expect to see ergonomic baby carriers, baby wear, books, menstrual cups, cotton pads, handcrafted gifts, women’s wear, wooden toys, cloth diapers, baked confectioneries, stuffed toys, crochet and quilled artefacts such as jewelry and accessories, and home care products. The event will be inaugurated by Mrs. Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, an actress, entrepreneur, and an active voice for women.
Three Bags Full will be held at WSquare, 38, Kamaraj Avenue, 2nd street, Adyar. WSquare is a woman-centric rental office space for events and corporate work environments. WSqaure’s most recent venture is a partnership with Thooli, a creche for children aged 0 – 3 years. The collaboration is aimed at encouraging women to come back to work after maternity by providing office infrastructure including high-speed internet and ergonomic work stations alongside child-rearing services.
Thooli will host their creche services at WSquare’s Adyar premises beginning May 14, and will host napping space, and fun toys, games and books to keep children engaged. The creche also hosts breastfeeding and diaper changing stations for mothers who need them. To find out more, call 89393 37210.
