Breaking free is easily said than done! We step into the world of reality the minute we finish our graduation. We think the life we always wanted is handed to us through our education. It is not always through education we find our purpose. The mould everyone set for us right from the beginning of time, not the mould we are destined to be in. Breaking free is sometimes the way of life. We encountered one such brave woman, who broke free and is now on her way to reach new heights in her life.
Greeshma Haridasan, an architect by education and a botanical sculpture artist by passion and profession. Her unique creations intrigued us to know more about her and her journey. Like everyone she encased herself in the mould, she thought was her destiny. After three short years, she decided being an architect is not something her heart believed in. She had a soul-searching experience for 2 years in real estate and then one day, she finally found her calling in the world of art. What began as a hobby turned into an interesting form of art. She found a part of herself in the paper flowers she created. Thus began her journey of creating Pot of eARTh.
To call them a craft would be an injustice to the intricate work involved in making these delicate beauties. Before sculpting a stem of flower she finds a real stem and learns every attention to detail in making them. Greeshma believes that her handcrafted flowers are better than real ones for two reasons: They last longer than the real ones and they enliven a space in the best way. She works on order basis right now and hopes to start her own boutique for interior designs in the near future.
We encountered her when she stepped into WSquare in search of a workspace. She appreciates the concept of co-working spaces as it serves the greater purpose of providing a platform for creative users and freelancers who are unable to work at home. The calm and chilled environment of our workspace not only helped her work better for also efficiently. Recently, she showcased her work at ‘The Slate’ as a part of ‘Lime soda pop up shop’. Check out her work on her Facebook and Instagram pages.
